Obituary for Barbara Ann Holeman

Barbara Ann Holeman, aged 63, of Anchorage passed away on Saturday, June 15, 2019 at Mama’s Assisted Living.

Barbara was born Wednesday, May 2, 1956 in Colorado to Mst. Sgt. Bill Brown and his wife, Grace (Williams) Brown.

She was a member of the Ladies Oriental Shrine of North America and enjoyed baking, writing and gardening.

Her family remembers, “She was proud grandmother, mother, wife, sister and friend. She was cherished by many for her kindness and dedication towards those she loved. In 2006, she was blessed to have married her best friend, Richard, who stayed by her side until the very end. She enjoyed bringing people together for parties and BBQs. She found solitude in her work and pride and joy in landscaping as a master gardener. Her flesh may be gone, but her spirit lives on.”

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Grace and one grandson.

Barbara is survived by her loving husband, Richard of Anchorage; daughter, Janice Hampton of Anchorage; son, Stephen and wife Char Weatherby of Fairbanks; grandchildren, David, Jr., Destiny Jada and Jeremiah Hampton all of Anchorage and Lila, Piper and Paige Weatherby all of Fairbanks and brothers, Thomas and John Brown of Anchorage and Michael Brown of Seattle, Washington.

A graveside service will be held 1:00 P.M. on Friday, June 21, 2019 at Angelus Memorial Park (440 E Klatt Rd. Anchorage, Alaska).

Old Age is Beautiful by Barbara Holeman
Many people are fooled by the beauty they believe exists in youth. What they are fooled by is a chemical known as pheromones and the lack of knowledge based on a full life experience. It is often well known that with age comes wisdom and with this wisdom comes the truths of life and what really is beautiful. Beauty is not what is on the outside but what is on the inside. What is on the inside stays with what we are unless something drastically alters our feelings; meaning we can be changes or change according to our experiences.
