Obituary for Donna Sue Scott

Donna Sue Scott passed away unexpectedly at her home in Soldotna on October 23, 2017.
A private family service was held.
She was born on May 25, 1961 in Havre de Grace, Maryland to James L. and Betty Scott. Donna’s family moved to Pennsylvania, where Ms. Scott spent the majority of her childhood on a farm making beautiful memories with family, friends, and farm animals. She moved to Alaska soon after turning 18.
Her family shared, “Donna was always the adventurous one of the family and was the life of the party. She brightened any room she walked into. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, cats, and living the country life. She had a beautiful singing voice and played the guitar. She never had a bad thing to say about anyone. She’ll be sorely missed.”
Ms. Scott was preceded in death by her mother, Betty Scott of Marlington, WV and brother, Randall Scott of Delta, PA.
She is survived her father, James L. Scott of Louisberg, WV; sons, Zach Hernandez of Fairbanks and John Wynkoop of Kenai, and daughter, Sarah Wynkoop of Soldotna; granddaughters, Jaylynn Hernandez of Fairbanks and Cadence Wynkoop of Soldotna; sister, Barbara Beavers of Fawn Grove, PA; brothers, Michael Scott of Marlington, WV, and Phillip Scott of Houston, TX; husband, Mark Wynkoop of Soldotna; and close family friend Bill Prather of Soldotna; as well as several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Donna’s name to Change 4 the Kenai. More information on Change 4 the Kenai can be found on Facebook or at www.change4kenai.org. Donations can be made by calling (907) 714-4521.
