Obituary for Jerry Lynn Gage

Jerry Lynn Gage was born to Belvin and Joyce Gage in March 23,1952 in San Francisco, California.

Jerry grew up in Fairbanks and graduated from Lathrop High School. After graduating, Jerry enlisted in the United States Army where he was a Military Police Officer.

Jerry was a member of St John Baptist Church where he was baptized at a young age. Growing up in the church he actively participated in the Youth Choir, the Youth Usher Board and the Royal Ambassadors.

Jerry was an outstanding athlete and played basketball and baseball in the Fairbanks area. He especially enjoyed baseball and played Fairbanks Little League, Babe Ruth and American Legion ball.

Jerry never met a stranger, he was a friend to everyone he met. Jerry completed his journey on May 11, 2020 after a long illness in Anchorage, Alaska where he has resided for more than twenty years.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents Belvin and Joyce Gage and Clarence Thomas, his grandmother Lucille Senior, brothers Michael Thomas and Stephan Gage and nephew Jordan Slay.

He leaves to cherish his memory his children, Kenina Pickett ( Jack Pickett) of Texarkana, TX, Ayana Amin-Gage of Sugarland, Tx, Ahmed Gage of Fairbanks, Ak , Shayna Chrestman of Bruce, Mississippi. Grandchildren: Aysha Eady-Amin of Houston, Ahasuerus Eady-Amin of Ft. Worth, Ethan Scott of Texarkana, Amelia Ellis of Texarkana, Brayden Chrestman of Mississippi, Braxton Chrestman of Mississippi, Kayelynn Craig of Mississippi, Adalynn of Mississippi, Alijah Gage, Aarion Gage, Anthony Gage, Ahmed Gage Jr, Amaris Gage, Ahmedeaus Gage, Alladdin Gage, Ahkeem Gage, and Ayden Gage and great grandchildren (Laila Jones of Houston ); longtime companion Jujuan Hunter of Anchorage, Ak. He also leaves to cherish his memory sisters Sharon Franklin of Ohio, Sheila Gage-Bratton and Lisa Thomas of Nevada, Sabrina Gage, Ambyr Gage, Charlotte Canfield, Karen Gage of California and brothers Raymond Thomas of Fairbanks, Ak and Ronald Gage of California. Jerry leaves many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends to cherish his memory. He will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him.
