Wasilla resident, Peggy Louise Eveland-Fromm,83, passed away peacefully surrounded by loving family Saturday, Oct 6, 2012 in Wasilla.

A celebration of Peggy’s life will be held in March 2013 in Salem, Oregon when the family will be reunited for a family wedding.

Peggy was born August 7, 1929 in Seattle, WA and was the fourth child of her parents William and Martha (Potter) Lakman. She graduated from Franklin High School in Seattle and moved to Alaska in 1948 with her husband John Covey. Peggy and John had 5 children all born in Alaska. Peggy and John ultimately took different and separate paths in their lives but they always remained lifelong friends. John took care of Peggy for a while in recent years after she was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. Peggy spent many years in Alaska before eventually moving to Oregon with her second husband Joe Eveland who was a loving and caring companion for many years before his passing. Through this marriage Peggy was introduced to her loving step daughter, Allyson, who along with her children became an important part of the rest of her life.

Both Peggy and Joe worked for the State of Alaska for many years. After Joe Eveland passed away Peggy was blessed to have another God sent companion Joseph Fromm enter her life. They married in Reno, Nevada on May 29, 1991 and were able to share several wonderful years together before Joseph passed on October 29, 2001.

Joseph and Peggy shared a love of music and together entertained at many retirement homes and care centers. Peggy played the piano and accordion and Joseph played the guitar. Last year Peggy moved back to Alaska, which she considered her home state, and was cared for in her final days by her son Carl and his wife Karin and supportive family members. She lived a full and complete life filled with love and satisfaction. Peggy touched the lives of so many people in her lifetime with her generous and loving nature and her ever present bright beautiful smile.

Peggy is survived by her children, Paul Covey, Karen Berdahl-Peterson, Robert Peterson, Carl Covey, Karin Covey, Frank (John) Covey, Pam Covey, Candace Robbecke, David Robbecke, Allyson Erickson, Bill Banaszek and Willadine Wright. She was blessed with many wonderful grandchildren and great grandchildren too numerous to list but all thought of and considered.

Arrangements were cared for by the Valley Funeral Home & Crematory. Please visit Peggy’s obituary and online guestbook at
