Obituary for Kyle Matthew Gray

Kyle Matthew Gray tragically died at the age of 24 in Seattle Washington on December 12th, 2017.

He was born on October 23, 1993 and lived in South Anchorage and Girdwood Alaska during most of his young life. In his youth he enjoyed fishing, hiking, skateboarding, biking, skiing, snowboarding, wakeboarding and snow machining. He played competitive Soccer and competed in Free-Style Snowboarding events where he won many Gold and Silver medals in USASA events in Alaska, Gold at the 2008 Arctic Winter Games in Yellowknife Canada and competed in many U.S. national events throughout his youth.

Following South High School, he moved to Washington State where he overcame a battle of drug addiction, attended Olympic College, began a life as a young adult and achieved a promising career in the construction industry.

He touched many lives with his charm, love, strength, humor and charisma. His smile, fight for life and always being there when you needed someone will be recalled by many; complimented by the cherished memories with Kyle as his young life ended too quickly. He was the shinning bright light for many, evolving into a young man and overcame a lot before moving to his new life with our loved ones in heaven. Kyle is sorely missed, greatly loved and will be forever remembered by his big heart and unconditional love for his family and friends.

Kyle is survived by his mother Kimberly Gray; brother Christopher Gray; step-father Timothy Montague; step siblings Pat, Connor, Megan and Keegan Montague; uncle James Coleman and wife Stephanie; aunt Cheryl Coleman; cousins James and Cailin Coleman; grandparents Jim and Annette Coleman; great-aunt Cyndi Fleming; great-uncle Rick Fleming; great-aunt Sharon Medlin; girlfriend Skyler Lindberg, pets (Ollie, Rolo and Loco) and family; Best Friends; family and friends.

Kyle was preceded in death by his brother Tyler Kamanski; grandmother Patsy Coleman; great-grandparents Hugh and Sylvia Medlin; great-great grandparent’s Elmer and Vivian Black; great-uncle Jim Warner; great-aunt JoAnn Pickworth; great-aunt Debbie Pickworth; great-uncle David Pickworth and many others.

A celebration of Kyle’s life was shared in Washington last week by his mother and Kyle’s close friends. There will be another celebration of Kyle’s life at Little Italy on December 28th from 4pm to 6pm located at 2300 East 88th Ave., Anchorage, AK. Kyle would want a celebration for his life by his friends and family so please join us in sharing many of the wonderful memories of Kyle and supporting those wishing he was still here.

Kyle will be buried next to his brother Tyler at the Anchorage Memorial Park in June entrusted by the Anchorage Funeral Home while the memories of him live-on forever. We love and miss you Kyle!
